From the Pastor’s Desk 7/12/2018

Mrs. C.J. Powell is the Facilitator for ECHO – Educators for Christian Home Schools of Oklahoma.  It is a home school co-op designed to assist home school families by providing a level of education for their children that parents may not be equipped to provide. Mrs. Powell       approached me about a need their group had for a meeting place one day per week (Tuesday) from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., starting on August 21. They will be using rooms on the lower floor of the Fuquay Building and the Fellowship Hall area for lunch and music instruction. Mrs. Powell said their motto is: At the end of the day we want the rooms to look as if we had never been there. In addition to taking responsibility for clean-up, they will also pay a monthly fee to offset cooling and heating costs. Also, did you know that we have five families who are homeschooling their children and one of them is a part of E.C.H.O? Our church has always had a community spirit by supporting educators and education in all settings; public, private, and home schools. God bless the children and the dedicated educators who impart knowledge and influence children’s lives.

In case you have not heard, Raymond Melton will be teaching a great evangelism class entitled Sharing Jesus Without Fear. If you have a burden for lost family members or friends but have been fearful about what to say or that you might say the wrong thing, this class is for YOU! The class will meet in the Melton’s home beginning July 24. There will be 11 sessions, two off-weeks and will conclude on October 16. You will need to purchase two books for around $20. The maximum number of the class is ten; as of July 9, four have committed to attend. I would encourage you to sign up quickly by calling Raymond at (405) 517-3794 or the church office. Call today! You’ll be glad you did.

Capital Baptist Association will provide personal evangelism training for Sunday School and other church leaders on August 2 from 5:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the CBA office. There is no cost to attend and an evening meal will be provided. It will be taught by BGCO Evangelism specialist, Mike Napier.  Please tell Wendell Kluge or call the church office if you plan to attend. If enough people sign up, we can provide transportation to and from the training. I am the team leader for the CBA Prayer/Evangelism Team that is sponsoring this training event.

I want to commend Bro. Reece and the music ministry and A/V team for a tremendous Patriotic service on July 1; I also want to commend Bro. Jimmie, sponsors, and students for another great Falls Creek service last Sunday evening. I believe I speak for the church family when I say, “We are proud of our music and student ministries and their dedicated ministers!”

This Sunday night at 6:00 p.m. we will have a representative of the ministry of The Gideons International from the country of Malaysia. Don’t miss this exciting testimony of how God is using His word being distributed in a country of people who are predominantly Muslims and Buddhists. An offering for the Gideon ministry will be taken. See you Sunday!
