GEM is composed of two age groups, the 5th & 6th Grade girls are called "Jewels for Jesus." The 7th thru 12th Grade girls are called "Daughters of the King."

GEM is made up of a group of young ladies and Christian women leaders of all ages. This team is united in the focus and support of pre-teen and teenage girls in the area of character, self worth, friendship, purity, discernment & spiritual growth.

The Purpose of GEM

is to support & build upon existing classes & ministries currently offered by FBC for this age group of girls. Our focus is relaying Christ truths on both the moral & social issues that are most relevant and that girls are facing today. Our ultimate goal is to enrich the lives of teens and pre-teen girls so that they might have an eternal impact for Christ on future generations to come.

G.E.M. Mission Statement

To be rooted in the love and mission of Jesus Christ.

To focus specifically on the ministry needs of pre-teen and teenage girls.

To support existing classes & ministries currently offered by the First Baptist Church of Midwest City for this age group.

To mentor girls through Godly women within our Church.

To teach young women how to make good decisions based on the understanding and application of God’s Word.

To equip girls for the spiritual warfare in these days.

To reach beyond the scope of our existing base youth groups and impact the culture of youth in our community through their individual peer groups and their sphere of influence.

To enrich the lives of our teens and pre-teens so that they might have an eternal impact on future generations to come.

Between Stimulus and response there is a space. In that space lies our freedom and power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our happiness.
