The great gospel music writer Andrae Crouch penned these words, “Jesus is the answer for the world today. Above Him there’s no other, Jesus is the way.” As Christians, if we truly believe Jesus is the way, we must act accordingly. When we put our personal opinions or political viewpoints above Christ-likeness, we fail. In light of the injustice, protests, unrest, and turmoil in recent days, it’s always good to remember that God’s Word gives us plenty of instruction for living life in a way that honors Him. If my heart is prideful, rebellious, dishonest, corrupt, or deceitful, I cannot please God with my attitude, my worship, my behavior, my walk, my speech, or my posts on social media. I must ask God to change my heart and transform my priorities. I have to repent and seek God. If my priority is God and godliness, then I will choose love and reconciliation and give the glory to God. I will act with love, justice, and humility and refrain from pushing my way or my political agenda. The prophet Micah said it like this, “Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8).
So sorry, but due to pandemic concerns, Capitol Baptist Association canceled Worship Arts Camp for Kids (WACK) this year.
