The Singing Churchwomen of Oklahoma will be in concert at our church on Thursday, January 25th at 7:00 pm. Unlike many concerts, the focus will not be on entertainment; instead, they will be here to lead us in worship.
You may be wondering, just what is a “worship” concert? As a member of the Singing Churchmen, I am privileged to sing in “worship” concerts frequently. The main ingredient in a worship concert is the undeniable presence of the Lord. When singers and instrumentalists praise and glorify God together, the Holy Spirit inspires them, and God “inhabits the praise” of His people (Psalm 20:3 KJV). Everyone attending the concert can sense the presence of God and are blessed to be a part of the worship that ensues.
I hope you will take advantage of attending this worship concert on Thursday. We have several FBCMWC choir members who are members of the Singing Churchwomen. Please come and support our ladies and enjoy the blessing of worship as we listen to great music together. As the ladies sing, we will experience the fulfillment of these words from Psalm 96 in their songs – “Oh sing to the Lord a new song…sing to the Lord, bless His name…worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness!”
We still need helpers for stage set-up, greeters, ushers, meal servers, etc. for the Singing Churchwomen Concert on Thursday, January 27th. If you can help, please sign up on the bulletin board by the Music Suite. Thanks!
